connection mining

by Anna Pazakova

i’ve amassed / a collection of people / sticking like burrs to the timeline of my life / i’ve lost
them in the everyday / they exist / only sometimes / in the moments we’ve shared / leave their
mark in unexpected ways / i always say “pounded it” when i eat quick / a stalwart reminder of a
friendship that didn’t last / wasn’t meant to / caught off guard by the force of my memories / they
bubble over a simmering pot / remind me how grateful I am we shared something / can we still /
connect over the transitory / translate data waves into permanence / be seen / observed / likes and
shares / exposure / both altruistic and selfish / still i / cast my net in hopes of finding those who
relate / to continue the cycle
