Cartography

by R.D. Girvan

My World unfolds from me to three.
True North, due South and ever East,
‘cross borders and rivers and prairie to sea;
their routes lead them home, my three from me.

Habits form highways, traditions lend speed
past milestones and landmarks of shared memories.
Freeways criss-cross like a family tree:
their roots lead them home, my three to me.

A banker by day, R.D. writes horror, poetry and other fiction under the name of her beloved grandmother.
